Q&A with Farooq Muhammad

City Leader

Phoenix

Before joining Sogeti, I was involved in a range of technology initiatives and client-facing roles, primarily focused on delivering solutions and business development. My professional growth truly accelerated at Sogeti. I’ve had the opportunity to take on increasing leadership responsibilities and contribute to our growth.

The consulting model at Sogeti was a major draw. It offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of technology while engaging with diverse clients across industries. The pace of learning, exposure to innovation, and the ability to make a tangible impact were key factors in my decision.

Building and scaling a high-performing team of consultants has been my most rewarding achievement. Seeing our team thrive, deliver exceptional results, and grow professionally is a testament to the culture and leadership we’ve cultivated.

To be successful, ensure the success of the customers you serve.

Sogeti fosters a merit-based, collaborative environment. We prioritize excellence in client delivery, invest in our consultants’ growth, and actively support our local communities. It’s a place where initiative is recognized and impact is valued.

My leadership philosophy centers on clarity and empowerment. I focus on aligning the team around shared goals, then give them the autonomy to innovate and execute. I coach and support along the way, and I’m always ready to roll up my sleeves and work side-by-side to achieve results.

Technology consulting is a broad and rapidly evolving field. One challenge has been recognizing the limits of individual expertise and leveraging the strengths of others across the organization. Partnering with internal leaders and subject matter experts has been key to success.

Challenges often reveal new opportunities for growth. I try to find the silver linings that help us emerge stronger.

Hiking. We have good hikes in and around the city, and even during the summer, early morning hikes are amazing.

Simon Sinek’s work on leadership and purpose has been especially impactful. I also draw inspiration from Warren Buffett’s principles on investing and long-term thinking.
