Q&A with Tricia Gremillion

City Leader

Houston

I moved to Houston in 2003. Before joining Sogeti, I worked for a MWBE that partnered with the Big 4 consulting firms as the certified HUB in public sector. I was a road warrior across Texas working on a variety of projects related to Oracle, SAP, and ServiceNOW in local government. The last project was at the City of Houston, and I worked with the Sogeti team. It was one of the best teams I have been a part of and eventually I converted.

The culture. I am blessed to work with some of the same key folks that encouraged me to join 10 years ago.

Champions Club both in Greece and Iceland. Being able to engage with our folks
from around the world was an incredible experience.

Keep learning and growing – seek feedback and stay curious.

Dynamic and inclusive culture centered on people, technology, and continuous education.

I lead with empathy and collaboration at the core. I feel the best outcomes come when people feel heard, supported, and empowered to bring their unique strengths to the table. I strive to create an environment where open communication is encouraged so ideas can flow and challenges can be tackled together. My goal is to foster a motivating culture for all to take initiative, innovate, and contribute meaningfully.

Managing team dynamics globally where the challenge was unclear communication, friction, and reduced productivity. I focused on open dialog with regular check-in cadences. I established some shared team member norms around respect, conflict resolution, and feedback. I also identified personal contributions to recognize personal value. By creating a space where everyone felt safe to express themselves and mediate conflict early, the team gradually became more cohesive and collaborative.

I unplug. You’ll find me outdoors fishing, shooting sporting clays, or embracing my core as an equestrian athlete.

Houston is a vibrant and diverse city for experiences, and every weekend offers a unique experience from the Astro’s, NASA, beach, or embracing my inner foodie with all the incredible cuisine the city has to offer.

“Failure is not an option” is the phrase associated with NASA flight Director Gene Kranz with the Apollo 13 mission. I had the pleasure of meeting him personally and is one leader I will never forget from the moment he entered the lecture room at University of Houston.
